Tell us a little bit about your bookstore.
We opened 12/2021, when most businesses were shutting down. We have 1,500 square feet located in downtown Idaho Falls, the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. We are independently owned and operated with no employees other than the family.
What is your favorite thing about being a bookseller?
The best thing about being a bookseller is being a resource to help the community find the resources to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus. From lifelong Christians to new believers, helping them find the perfect Bible is always the greatest. It’s also awesome when customers connect within the shop. Some haven’t seen each other in years, so it’s a special reunion.
What is your favorite memory?
As a family, our favorite memory is the first day we got the keys and stepped into an empty space. We were there to clean and envision the set-up process. Melissa and I talked as we worked, and the girls cleaned as well. To keep themselves entertained, our youngest daughter had a little stuffed lamb, so with no ball to throw around they threw the lamb. He became very dirty and earned the name “dirt bag.” He is still on the top cabinet in the store for all to see!
