Can you talk about your career in librarianship and how you joined Collection Development at Ingram?
|
I became a librarian almost 19 years ago and, in that time, have worked for 6 library systems and now Ingram. I have been a librarian in two different states; Ohio and Washington both as a children’s librarian and a collection development librarian. I love both positions equally as each uses a different one of my skill sets; being a children’s librarian used my people skills and the innate need to be helpful while collection development used my analytical skills (I love excel spreadsheets and data). When the Ingram position became available, I was interested in joining the team of librarians here because it utilized both of my skill sets. Today, I talk with librarians from around the country to help them develop collections for their distinct needs.
